The kinetics, products, and mechanism of thermal decomposition of diphenyldiazomethane (RN₂, R = Ph₂C) in the presence of oxygen were studied. Thermolysis is accompanied by chemiluminescence. An-emitter of chemiluminescence (³RO) forms in the reaction of benzophenone 0-oxide ROO with RN₂.
