The weak bands located at the low numbers may be assigned to

CONCLUSIONS
A rarely seen terephthalato-bridged dinuclear copper(II)
complex derived from 4-chloro-2-[(2-isopropylaminoethylim
ino)methyl]phenol and terephthalic acid was prepared and
characterized. The single-crystal structure of the complex was
determined. The synthesis of the complex indicates that the
terephthalate anion is an interesting bridging group for the con-
struction of polynuclear complexes. The present copper com-
plex may possess interesting magnetic property, which deserves
further investigation.
