min at 100 ЊC stirring became impaired due to an increase in
viscosity of the reaction mixture. Therefore, the reaction mix-
ture was gradually heated from 100–180 ЊC in 20 min in order
to force the reaction to completion. After cooling to room
temperature the reaction mixture was dissolved in THF (30 ml)
and the polymer was precipitated in a five-fold excess of vigor-
ously stirred methanol. The methanol solution was decanted
from the oily precipitate and concentrated under reduced pres-
sure yielding a light brown oil containing the series of cyclic
oligomers.
