washing water of these non-ionic surfactants is expected to
increase the fertility of soil by the provision of thiourea. As
introduction of thiourea group in the structure of a sur-
factant lowers its solubility in water, so, further study is in
progress to incorporate such moieties in thiourea-based
non-ionic surfactants to improve their water solubility,
cleaning action and biodegradability.
