UV/Vis absorption spectra were recorded with a Varian Cary50 Scan
spectrophotometer.

2.3. Crystal structure determination
The data collection was performed at T ¼ 293(2) K on a STOE IPDS
To a solution of [(COD)Pd(Me)Cl] (200 mg, 0.75mmol) dissolved in
THF (50 mL), an amount of 259.2 mg (0.75 mmol) Ag[SbF6] was added
in the dark. After stirring for 15 min, the precipitated AgCl wasfiltered
off using Celite. The filtrate was added to a solution of 380 mg
(1.3mmol)ofMe2-Xyl-DABdissolvedinTHF(10 mL). After6 hstirring,
all solvents were distilled off and the resulting material was recrys-
tallised three times using acetone and n-heptane and finally dried
under vacuum (10ꢀ3 mbar). Yield: 150 mg (0.2 mmol, 26%) of an or-
ange solid. Anal. C29H39F6N2Pd1Sb1 (MW ¼ 757.8 g/mol): C, 45.96; H,

shown in Table 1 (and Supporting information). All non-hydrogen
atoms were treated anisotropically; hydrogen atoms were
included by using appropriate riding models.

chemicals were purchased by commercial suppliers and were used
without further purification.

3. Results and discussion
3.1. Preparations and analytical characterisation
