3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones: Fast synthesis under microwave irradiation in solvent free conditions

Microwave irradiation has been used to accelerate the synthesis of the Biginelli compounds, in one-pot reaction between β-keto esters, aryl aldehydes, and urea. These solvent-free reactions show that it is possible to prepare these compounds in a short time reaction and with good yield and easily isolable.
