Design and synthesis of complementary components for the formation of self-assembled supramolecular rigid rods

The complementary components AP₂ and AU₂, resulting respectively from the linking of diacylaminopyridine and uracil derivatives to an anthracenic core, have been designed in order to self-assemble, through hydrogen bonding, into polymeric supramolecular rigid rods (AP₂, AU₂)(n). The synthesis of these compounds is reported.
