Phenanthrenequinone reacts with phenylacetylene and PCl3 to form
2,7-dichloro-2-oxo-4-phenyl-l-oxa-2-phosphatriphenylene. Several 1-
oxa-2-phosphatriphenylene derivatives 2,3 could be synthesized em-
ploying substituted phenanthrenequinones and PBr3 as precursors.
The corresponding morpholides 1,3 were examined by the single crystal
x-ray diffraction (see Figures 1 and 2).
