optical detection system consisted of a pulsed xenon lamp (XBO
150, Osram), monochromator (SpectraPro-275, Acton Research),
R955 photomultiplier tube (Hamamatsu Photonics) or fast
Si-photodiode with 1 Ghz amplification, and 500 MHz digitizing
oscilloscope (DSA 602 A, Tektronix). The laser power was moni-
tored for every pulse using bypath with a fast Si-photodiode. The
laser flash photolysis set-up is reported elsewhere in more detail.28
