The rhizomes of Curculigo orchioides yielded hentriacontanol, sitosterol, stigmasterol, cycloartenol, sucrose and a new phenolic glycoside, named orchioside A (orcinol-3-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1->6)β-D-glucopyranoside).The structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods and chemical transformations.
