In the title compound (1-acetyl-4-oxoimidazolidine-2-thione, C₅H₆N₂O₂S), the plane of the acetyl group forms an angle of 6.7° with the essentially planar thiohydantoin ring. N - H...O hydrogen bonds create quasiplanar chains of molecules along the y axis.
