The catalytic activity of Sm2O3 for oxidative coupling of CH4 was measured at the conditions: P(CH4)/P(O2)=6, P(O2)=14.4 kPa, W/F=0.000223-0.0891 g*h*l-1, and T=750 deg C.STY of C2-compounds reached to 2.98 mol*g-1*h-1 at W/F of 0.000223 g*h*l-1.The catalytic activity of Sm2O3 was one to three orders of magnitude greater than those reported for other metal oxides.
