Lithium aluminate Specification

The Lithium aluminate(AlLiO2), with the CAS registry number 12003-67-7, has the IUPAC name lithium oxido(oxo)alumane. It's an inorganic chemical compound, an aluminate of lithium. For it's insoluble in water and it will decompose when contacts with acid, please keep it in the cool and dry place. Additionally, this chemical which is colorless orthorhombic crystal has two kinds of acid salts, one is LiH (AlO2)2.5H2O and the other one is LiH (AlO2)2.3H2O. It also finds its use as an inert electrolyte support material in molten carbonate fuel cells, where the electrolyte may be a mixture of lithium carbonate, potassium carbonate, and sodium carbonate.

Other characteristics of the Lithium aluminate can be summarised as followings: (1)H-Bond Donor: 1; (2)H-Bond Acceptor: 2; (3)Rotatable Bond Count: 0; (4)Exact Mass: 65.987372; (5)MonoIsotopic Mass: 65.987372; (6)Topological Polar Surface Area: 40.1; (7)Heavy Atom Count: 4; (8)Formal Charge:0; (9)Complexity: 13.5; (10)Isotope Atom Count: 0; (11)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 2; (12)#Freely Rotating Bonds: 0; (13)Polar Surface Area: 37.3 Å2.

Production method of the Lithium aluminate: It could be obtained by the reactants Lithium nitrate (LiNO3) and aluminum nitrate [Al(NO3)3.9H2O](Li: Al = 1:1). This reaction needs the organic fuels, such as citric acid (C6H8O2.H2O), urea [CO(NH2)2], Kabbah hydrazine [CO(N2H3)2], glycine (C2H5NO2) or alanine (C3H7NO2). Moreover, it need the solvent deionized water and the temperature 250°C and 450 °C.

When you are using this chemical, please be cautious about it as the following: This chemical is irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. You should wear suitable protective clothing if you use it. In case of contacting with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
