Preparation and uses of N,N-Dimethyloctadecylamine: It can be prepared by condensing octadecylamine with formaldehyde and formic acid. In addition, it is used as chemical intermediates for the manufacture of quaternary ammonium compounds, amine oxide and betaine surfactants. It is also used as softening agent, antistatic agent and veterinary anthelmintic.
