Design, synthesis, and insecticidal activities of novel diamide derivatives with alpha-amino acid subunits

Chen, Rui-Jia,Wang, Jun-Jie,Han, Li,Gu, Yu-Cheng,Xu, Zhi-Ping,Cheng, Jia-Gao,Shao, Xu-Sheng,Xu, Xiao-Yong,Li, Zhong

supporting information, p. 1429 - 1436 (2021/05/06)

A series of diamide derivatives containing α-amino acids were designed and synthesized. These compounds were evaluated for their insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostella, Mythimna separate, Myzus persicae, and Tetranychus cinnabarinus. Most of the title compounds containing an l-phenylglycine skeleton were endowed with good activities at the concentration of 500 mg·L?1. Compounds (R)-A6 showed a potential value for further optimization as an insecticidal lead with the LC50 value of 86.8 mg·L?1.

Casey, Mary C.,Du, Haijuan,Hachiya, Atsuko,Kankanala, Jayakanth,Kirby, Karen A.,Sahani, Rajkumar Lalji,Sarafianos, Stefan G.,Tedbury, Philip R.,Vernekar, Sanjeev Kumar V.,Wang, Lei,Wang, Zhengqiang,Xie, Jiashu,Zhang, Huanchun

supporting information, (2020/08/19)

The PF74 binding site in HIV-1 capsid protein (CA) is a compelling antiviral drug target. Although PF74 confers mechanistically distinct antiviral phenotypes by competing against host factors for CA binding, it suffers from prohibitively low metabolic sta

An Efficient Greener Approach for N-acylation of Amines in Water Using Benzotriazole Chemistry

Ibrahim, Tarek S.,Seliem, Israa A.,Panda, Siva S.,Al-Mahmoudy, Amany M.M.,Abdel-Samii, Zakaria K.M.,Alhakamy, Nabil A.,Asfour, Hani Z.,Elagawany, Mohamed

A straightforward, mild and cost-efficient synthesis of various arylamides in water was accomplished using versatile benzotriazole chemistry. Acylation of various amines was achieved in water at room temperature as well as under microwave irradiation. The developed protocol unfolds the synthesis of amino acid aryl amides, drug conjugates and benzimidazoles. The environmentally friendly synthesis, short reaction time, simple workup, high yields, mild conditions and free of racemization are the key advantages of this protocol.

Enantioseparation of Sulfoxides and Nitriles by Inclusion Crystallization with Chiral Organic Salts Based on l-Phenylalanine

Kodama, Koichi,Kanai, Hayato,Shimomura, Yuki,Hirose, Takuji

supporting information, p. 1726 - 1729 (2018/04/24)

Enantioselective inclusion of aromatic sulfoxides and nitriles was achieved in a host framework created by organic salts comprising achiral benzoic acids and a chiral primary amine (1a) derived from l-phenylalanine. Tuning of the combined achiral acid component successfully changed the chiral recognition ability of the organic salts. The guest molecules were hydrogen-bonded to form three-component inclusion crystals, and the enantiomers of nitriles and sulfoxides were separated with high selectivity up to 92 and 98 % ee. As far as we know, this is the first example of the enantioseparation of non-functionalized aromatic nitriles.

Amine Activation: N-Arylamino Acid Amide Synthesis from Isothioureas and Amino Acids

Zhu, Yan-Ping,Mampuys, Pieter,Sergeyev, Sergey,Ballet, Steven,Maes, Bert U. W.

, p. 2481 - 2498 (2017/07/22)

N-arylamino acid amides have been synthesized via a novel method based on N-arylamine activation into isothioureas followed by reaction with amino acids under iron catalysis. The activated N-arylamines are easily prepared using a three-component reaction with commercial reagents, tert-butylisocyanide and S-phenyl benzenethiosulfonate. The protocol shows a broad functional group compatibility, with respect to side chain functionality of the amino acid (e. g. aliphatic and aromatic OH, (hetero)aromatic NH, amide NH, thioether), and the chiral amino acids do not undergo epimerization. The mechanism of the new amide synthesis has been studied. (Figure presented.).

Ruthenium-catalyzed N-alkylation of amines with alcohols under mild conditions using the borrowing hydrogen methodology

Enyong, Arrey B.,Moasser, Bahram

, p. 7553 - 7563 (2014/09/17)

Using a simple amino amide ligand, ruthenium-catalyzed one-pot alkylation of primary and secondary amines with simple alcohols was carried out under a wide range of conditions. Using the alcohol as solvent, alkylation was achieved under mild conditions, even as low as room temperature. Reactions occurred with high conversion and selectivity in many cases. Reactions can also be carried out at high temperatures in organic solvent with high selectivity using stoichiometric amounts of the alcohol.

Remarkable shape-sustaining, load-bearing, and self-healing properties displayed by a supramolecular gel derived from a bis-pyridyl-bis-amide of L -phenyl alanine

Das, Uttam Kumar,Banerjee, Subhabrata,Dastidar, Parthasarathi

supporting information, p. 2475 - 2482 (2014/10/15)

A series of bis-amides decorated with pyridyl and phenyl moieties derived from L-amino acids having an innocent side chain (L-alanine and L-phenyl alanine) were synthesized as potential low-molecular-weight gelators (LMWGs). Both protic and aprotic solven

Synthesis of highly substituted imidazolidine-2,4-dione (Hydantoin) through Tf2O-mediated dual activation of Boc-protected dipeptidyl compounds

Liu, Hui,Yang, Zhimin,Pan, Zhengying

supporting information, p. 5902 - 5905 (2015/01/08)

Highly substituted chiral hydantoins were readily synthesized from simple dipeptides in a single step under mild conditions. This reaction proceeded through the dual activation of an amide and a tert-butyloxycarbonyl (Boc) protecting group by Tf2O-pyridine. This method was successfully applied in the preparation of a variety of biologically active compounds, including drug analogs and natural products.

Development of Plowast-monodentate diamidophosphites with a C1-symmetric 1,2-diamine backbone: The effects of substituents in the 1,3,2-diazaphospholidine cycle on Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylations

Gavrilov, Konstantin N.,Shiryaev, Alexei A.,Zheglov, Sergey V.,Potapova, Oksana V.,Chuchelkin, Ilya V.,Novikov, Ivan M.,Rastorguev, Eugenie A.,Davankov, Vadim A.

, p. 409 - 417 (2013/06/27)

We have designed and synthesized a small library of modular monodentate diamidophosphite ligands with stereogenic phosphorus atoms. The library was prepared efficiently from the commercially available and inexpensive (S)-N-Boc-amino acids. These novel ligands were screened in the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylations of (E)-1,3-diphenylallyl acetate with dimethyl malonate as the C-nucleophile with up to 93% ee being obtained. The results showed that the different substituents in the 1,3,2-diazaphospholidine cycle had remarkable effects on the enantioselectivity.
