Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 38591-94-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,8,5,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 38591-94:
(7*3)+(6*8)+(5*5)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*9)+(1*4)=155
155 % 10 = 5
So 38591-94-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

PRODUCTION METHOD FOR N-(ALPHA-HYDROXYETHYL)FORMAMIDE, PRODUCTION METHOD FOR N-(ALPHA-ALKOXYETHYL)FORMAMIDE, PRODUCTION DEVICE FOR N-(ALPHA-HYDROXYETHYL)FORMAMIDE, AND PRODUCTION DEVICE FOR N-(ALPHA-ALKOXYETHYL)FORMAMIDE

-

Paragraph 0138-0141, (2019/08/18)

Provided is a production method for N-(α-hydroxyethyl) formamide, having a step (1) in which a basic catalyst stored in a catalyst supply device and formamide are mixed in a mixing tank; and a step (2) in which the formamide mixed with the basic catalyst is brought in contact with acetaldehyde and N-(α-hydroxyethyl) formamide is obtained. In step (1), at least part of the catalyst supply device is vibrated while the basic catalyst is supplied to the mixing tank.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING N-(ALPHA-ALKOXYETHYL)FORMAMIDE

-

Paragraph 0165-0172, (2019/05/18)

Provided are a method for producing N-(α-alkoxyethyl)formamide, comprising adding an acid catalyst to the mixed liquid within 3 hours from start of mixing after mixing of N-(α-hydroxyethyl)formamide with an alcohol has been started, by which the N-(α-alkoxyethyl)formamide can be produced at a high yield without additional investment in plant and equipment while suppressing an increase in the temperature of the mixed liquid and preventing corrosion of a pipe; and a method for producing N-(α-alkoxyethyl)formamide, comprising degassing carbon dioxide in the reaction of N-(α-hydroxyethyl)formamide with an alcohol, by which the N-(α-alkoxyethyl)formamide having a decreased carbonate concentration can be produced.

N-Vinylformamide - Syntheses and Chemistry of a Multifunctional Monomer

Kro?ner, Michael,Dupuis, Jacques,Winter, Manfred

, p. 115 - 131 (2007/10/03)

N-Vinylformamide (VFA), the simplest member of the enamide group, is the key compound in the synthesis of linear cationic polymers with primary amino groups. In recent decades VFA has been the object of intensive research activity in industry and in universities with the aim of developing an economic method of synthesis. The various principles underlying the synthesis are described and the possibilities for their industrial realisation are discussed. From the large number of methods two variants have now been established as industrial production procedures at BASF and Mitsubishi Kasei Corp. (MKC). VFA is now available in tonne quantities in high purity. An overview of the versatile reaction possibilities of this multifunctional monomer and an extensive list of references are also given. The radical polymerisation to polyvinylformamides and their further reaction to polyvinylamines are not covered in this review.

Preparation of N-α-alkoxyethylformamides

-

, (2008/06/13)

N-α-alkoxyethylformamides of the formula STR1 where R is C1 -C18 -alkyl, are prepared by reacting a vinyl ether of the formula where R has the meaning stated in the formula I, with formamide in the presence of an acidic or basic catalyst at from -10° to 150° C.

Process for producing N-substituted formamides

-

, (2008/06/13)

Disclosed herein is a process for producing N-substituted formamide represented by the formula: STR1 wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a residual radical of a primary or secondary alcohol, comprising the steps of reacting formamide with acetaldehyde in the presence of a basic catalyst and if required, further reacting the thus formed product, N-(α-hydroxyethyl)formamide, with a primary or secondary alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst.

Process for the preparation of N-α-alkoxyalkyl-carboxamides, and some representatives of this class of compounds and secondary products obtained therefrom

-

, (2008/06/13)

N-α-Alkoxyalkyl-carboxamides are prepared by reacting primary or secondary amides of aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acids, or cyclic carboxamides (lactams) which are not capable of forming an aromatic system, with open-chain α-halogenoalkyl
