Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 40335-00-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 4,0,3,3 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 40335-00:
(7*4)+(6*0)+(5*3)+(4*3)+(3*5)+(2*0)+(1*0)=70
70 % 10 = 0
So 40335-00-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Euodenine A: A small-molecule agonist of human TLR4

Neve, Juliette E.,Wijesekera, Hasanthi P.,Duffy, Sandra,Jenkins, Ian D.,Ripper, Justin A.,Teague, Simon J.,Campitelli, Marc,Garavelas, Agatha,Nikolakopoulos, George,Le, Phuc V.,De A. Leone, Priscila,Pham, Ngoc B.,Shelton, Philip,Fraser, Neil,Carroll, Anthony R.,Avery, Vicky M.,McCrae, Christopher,Williams, Nicola,Quinn, Ronald J.

, p. 1252 - 1275 (2014/03/21)

A small-molecule natural product, euodenine A (1), was identified as an agonist of the human TLR4 receptor. Euodenine A was isolated from the leaves of Euodia asteridula (Rutaceae) found in Papua New Guinea and has an unusual U-shaped structure. It was synthesized along with a series of analogues that exhibit potent and selective agonism of the TLR4 receptor. SAR development around the cyclobutane ring resulted in a 10-fold increase in potency. The natural product demonstrated an extracellular site of action, which requires the extracellular domain of TLR4 to stimulate a NF-κB reporter response. 1 is a human-selective agonist that is CD14-independent, and it requires both TLR4 and MD-2 for full efficacy. Testing for immunomodulation in PBMC cells shows the induction of the cytokines IL-8, IL-10, TNF-α, and IL-12p40 as well as suppression of IL-5 from activated PBMCs, indicating that compounds like 1 could modulate the Th2 immune response without causing lung damage.

Synthesis and characterization of substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2- thiones

Ramasamy,Balasubramaniam,Mohan

experimental part, p. 4726 - 4728 (2012/09/07)

The synthesis of various substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-thiones from various substituted aniline with malonic acid, phosphorousoxychloride, sodium methoxide glacial acetic acid and thiourea under different conditions is described. All these substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-thiones were synthesized from four steps; the first step involved the synthesis of substituted 2,4-dichloro quinoline from aniline (substituted), with malonic acid and phosphorous-oxychloride. In the second step, the substituted 2,4-dichloro compound was heated with freshly prepared methanolic sodium methoxide solution to give 2,4-dimethoxy quinoline compounds, it was then refluxed with glacial acetic acid and hydrochloric acid to get the substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin- 2-one. The final steps involves with an objective of introducing a chloro in the position 2 of the quinolone system, the substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-one was refluxed with distilled PoCl3 chloroform. The substituted 2-chloro-4-methoxy quinoline was then refluxed with thiourea and alcohol to get substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-thiones. The purity of the synthesized compound was judged by their C, H and N analysis and the structure was analyzed on the basics of mass, FT-IR and 1H NMR.

Synthesis and characterization of substituted 4-methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-ones

Ramasamy,Balasubramaniam,Mohan

experimental part, p. 1066 - 1070 (2011/11/29)

An efficient method for the synthesis of various substituted 4- methoxy-1H-quinolin-2-ones from various substituted aniline with malonic acid, phosphorous oxychloride, sodium methoxide and glacial acetic acid under different conditions is described. The title compounds were synthesized from three steps; the first step involved the synthesis of substituted 2, 4-dichloro quinoline from aniline (substituted), with malonic acid and phosphorousoxychloride. In the second step, the substituted 2, 4 dichloro compounds was heated with freshly prepared methanolic sodium methoxide solution to give 2, 4-dimethoxy quinoline compounds, it was then refluxed with glacial acetic acid and hydrochloric acid to give the titled compounds in the final step. The purity of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by their C, H and N analysis and the structure was analyzed on the basics of Mass, FT-IR and 1H NMR.

Demethylation of 2,4-dimethoxyquinolines: the synthesis of atanine.

Jones, Keith,Roset, Xavier,Rossiter, Sharon,Whitfield, Philip

, p. 4380 - 4383 (2007/10/03)

The synthesis of the quinoline alkaloid atanine 6, by selective demethylation of the 2,4-dimethoxyquinoline 11 is presented. An alternative demethylation utilising a thiolate anion leads to the regioisomeric 4-hydroxyquinoline 13.

Further studies of regioselective alkoxydehalogenation of 2,4-dichloroquinolines, 2,6-dichloropyridine and 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene

Osborne, Alan G.,Dimitrova, Galya T.,Galbally, Paul,Hughes, David D.,Jones, Clare,Lipman, Anthony L.,Wilstead, Nicola

, p. 124 - 148 (2007/10/03)

Regioselective alkoxydehalogenation reactions using solid alkoxide in toluene have been studied. 2-Alkoxy-4-haloquinolines were obtained from 2,4-dichloroquinolines. With 2,6-dichloropyridine, α-regioselectivity occurred to furnish the 2-alkoxy-6-chloropyridine. The reaction failed with 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene indicating that alkoxide surface contact with a basic heterocyclic nitrogen lone pair was essential for success. Comparative studies with the standard alkoxydehalogenation reaction (alcoholic alkoxide solution) have been performed, all compounds have been identified by 1H and 13C NMR.

Methylation of 4-Hydroxy-2-quinolone

Reisch, Johannes,Mester, Iuliu

, p. 751 - 755 (2007/10/02)

The reaction of 4-hydroxy-2-quinolone (1a) with methyl iodide/potassium hydroxide in boiling acetone gave a mixture of 1-methyl-4-methoxy-2-quinolone (1d), 1,3-dimethyl-4-methoxy-2-quinolone (1e), and 1,3,3-trimethyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline (2).As by-product 2,4-dimethoxyquinoline (3) was identified.Under the same conditions 4-methoxy-2-quinolone (1c) yielded 1d, 1e, 2 and 3, while 1-methyl-4-hydroxy-2-quinolone (1b) gave 1d, 1e and 2.
