Abstract: A new efficient one-pot procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1-substituted partially hydrogenated 3-oxocycloalka[c]pyridine-4-carbonitriles by reaction of cyclopentanone or cyclohexanone with morpholine, acyl chloride, and cyanoacetamide.
