Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 89760-42-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,9,7,6 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 89760-42:
(7*8)+(6*9)+(5*7)+(4*6)+(3*0)+(2*4)+(1*2)=179
179 % 10 = 9
So 89760-42-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Electrochemical Generation of a Nonstabilized Azomethine Ylide: Access to Substituted N-Heterocycles

Kumar, Rakesh,Banerjee, Prabal

, p. 16104 - 16113 (2021/11/18)

Azomethine ylides are fascinating 1,3-dipoles for [3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions toward the construction ofN-heterocycles. Herein, an efficient and environmentally benign electrochemical approach for the generation of a nonstabilized azomethine ylide has been established under metal-free and external oxidant-free conditions. The resulting 1,3-dipole undergoes a [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction with olefins. This electrosynthetic methodology indulges a straightforward and facile approach for the construction of substituted pyrrolidines.

Z-Selective phosphine promoted 1,4-reduction of ynoates and propynoic amides in the presence of water

Drikermann, Denis,Kupfer, Stephan,Seifert, Fabian,Steinmetzer, Johannes,Vilotijevic, Ivan,Zi, You

supporting information, p. 6092 - 6097 (2021/07/21)

Phosphine-mediated reductions of substituted propynoic esters and amides in the presence of water yield the partially reduced α,β-unsaturated esters and amides with highZ-selectivity. The competitivein situ ZtoE-isomerization of the product in some cases lowers theZtoEratios of the isolated α,β-unsaturated carbonyl products. Reaction time and the amounts of phosphine and water in the reaction mixture are the key experimental factors which control the selectivity by preventing or reducing the rates ofZ- toE-product isomerization. Close reaction monitoring enables isolation of theZ-alkenes with high selectivities. The computational results suggest that the reactions could be highlyZ-selective owing to the stereoselective formation of theE-P-hydroxyphosphorane intermediate.

An efficient methodology for the synthesis of 6-styrenylpyrone in a four-step sequence is reported. The reactions were performed under catalyst-free conditions with mild and affordable reagents to produce 5,6-dehydrokawain and fluorinated derivatives in good to excellent overall yields (72–86%) on a multigram scale. Two novel difluorinated derivatives are reported here for the first time.

Piperlongumine derived cyclic sulfonamides (sultams): Synthesis and in?vitro exploration for therapeutic potential against HeLa cancer cell lines

Lad, Nitin P.,Kulkarni, Sarang,Sharma, Rajiv,Mascarenhas, Malcolm,Kulkarni, Mahesh R.,Pandit, Shivaji S.

, p. 870 - 878 (2016/12/18)

A novel modification of piperlongumine is designed, bearing a cyclic sulphonamide (sultam) and its synthesis is described. For the first time herein we report the synthesis and biological evaluation of the natural product derived cyclic sulfonamides using Grubbs second generation catalyst (Grubbs II) via ring closing metathesis approach. Synthesis of a series of piperlongumine derived sultams is done in a moderate to good yield using Wittig reaction, Ring-Closing Metathesis (RCM) and, amide synthesis by using mixed anhydride, approach. All synthesized compounds were evaluated for anticancer activity and some demonstrated dose dependent reduction in HeLa cell growth. Of these 7, 10 and 14 significantly reduced the cell growth. Consequently their calculated GI50values were found to be 0.1 or 0.1?μM.
