Assignment of relative configurations to the diastereomeric racemates (1R2R, 1S2S) and (1R2S, 1S2R) of 1-mesityl-2-methyl-3-phenyl-1-propanol was carried out, by studing the chemical shifts induced by Eu(fod)3 an the signal of the Me group in position 2, taking into account a prior estimate of the populations of significant forms in both diastereomers.
