Results of a study of the autoxidation of bis(η5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium alkyls of the general formulae Cp★2ZrR·X (where R = Me, CH2Ph; X = R, Cl) and that of the mixed cyclopentadienyl Cp★CpZr(CH2Ph)2 are described. Rates of initiation and oxidation are compared with those for bis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)zirconocenes.
