The structures of diumycinol (1), isodiumycinol (2), and diumycene (3), the nonisoprenoid C25 lipids obtained by acid hydrolysis of the antibiotic diumycin, have been determined by analysis of spectral data and the identification of a number of degradation products. Examination of the ORD of a degradation product gave the absolute configuration of the asymmetric center in these compounds.
