The structure of the surface of coatings formed on steel C1030 by the method of electrospark alloying after tests for heat resistance in the air by the thermal cycling method is studied. The coatings were formed using cathode Ni and nickel aluminides with different phase composition NiAl, Ni3Al, and also by the sequential use of Ni and Ni3Al. Nickel aluminides were obtained by casting methods. The samples with coatings Ni3Al and NiAl possess the highest heat resistance. It is established that the reserve for increasing the heat resistance is an increase in the continuity of the coatings obtained by the ESD method.
