AimPrevious clinical studies have demonstrated that tangganjian (TGJ), a modern Chinese prescribed medicine, has a clinical effect in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Our study aimed to investigate whether the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) signaling pathway is involved in this therapeutic effect.
