A fluorometric method for the measurement of butaperazine in human plasma

The fluorometric measurement of butaperazine following its extraction from human plasma by a three step procedure and a buffer wash to eliminate interfering metabolites is described. Procedures confirming the specificity and reproducibility of the method were done, and a sensitivity of 20 ng/ml plasma was achieved. The applicability of the method was tested by a study of the plasma levels and pharmacodynamics of butaperazine in eight schizophrenic subjects.
