Palladium based alloys have been proven to be the promising electrocatalyst for direct liquid fuel cells. Among them Palladium-Nickel (PdNi) alloy is considered as the most ideal catalyst due to its unique function in adsorption of hydrogen. Palladium-Nickel (PdNi) system was synthesized using cost effective chemical reduction method using sodium borohydride and investigated in this paper. A compositional analysis has been studied using the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Atomic absorption spectroscopy technique and which confirms the presence of nickel and palladium. The XRD studies were carried out to determine the structure of the sample. The HRSEM micrographs were taken to view the surface morphology of the nanosized particles. Electrochemical behavior of PdNi alloy was studied using cyclic voltammetry.
