Study on wetting and dispersion of the Pigment Yellow 110

Dispersibility is an important property of pigment, it determines whether the pigment primary particles are wetted and well-spaced giving optimum tinctorial strength. As Isoindolinone yellow pigment (Color index Number: Pigment Yellow 110, Molecular formula C22H6Cl8N4O2) is an expensive pigment, getting the maximum tinctorial strength would be desirable. This paper studies the various factors that influence the dispersion of Pigment Yellow 110. It analyses the influence of surfactants with various Hydrophilic Lipophilic Balance (HLB) on pigment dispersion and also its effect in combination with various types of wetting agent.
