Effect of non-nitrogenous onium compounds on biliary excretion of procaine amide ethobromide (cas 17010-70-7)

Non-nitrogenous onium compounds, such as methyltriphenylphosphonium, n-propyltriphenylphosphonium, hexane-1,6-bis(dimethylsulfonium), tetraphenylarsonium, and N[4(p-chlorophenoxy)-3-chloro] phenylacetamidotriphenylphosphonium, had little or no effect on the rate of biliary excretion of the quaternary amine procaine amine ethobromide (PAEB) in rats with ligated renal pedicles. Although methyltriphenylphosphonium depressed PAEB excretion slightly, the depressant effect was nonspecific, since the compound also depressed bile flow and the biliary excretion of an anionic drug.
