Synthesis, characterization, crystal structure biological activity of 4-{2-[5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)- [1,3,4]oxadiazol-2-ylsulfanyl]-ethyl}-morpholine

4-{2-[5-(4-Fluoro-phenyl)- [1,3,4]oxadiazol-2-ylsulfanyl]-ethyl}-morpholine (3) was synthesized by refluxing 1,3,4 oxadiazole-2-thiol with 4-(2-chloroethyl) morpholine hydrochloride. It was characterized by NMR, IR, and Mass spectral studies and finally the structure was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. From single crystal X-ray diffraction results that the compound belongs to monoclinic system with the following lattice parameters a = 13.0734 (4) Å, b = 11.4788 (4) Å, c = 9.7771 (3) Å and residual factor R = 0.048. The synthesized 4-{2-[5-(4-Fluoro-phenyl)- [1,3,4]oxadiazol-2-ylsulfanyl]-ethyl}-morpholine was also screened for biological activity such as antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-TB, anti-diabetic and molecular docking studies for InhA protein. compound 3 showed the remarkable anti-tb activity with MIC 3.12 μg/ml concentration and superior anti-microbial activity, its MIC values are lower than the standard.
