1.1. A controlled clinical trial comparing morphine and Piminodine (cas 13495-09-5) (Alvodine) in 96 patients suffering from postoperative pain is reported.2.2. When morphine sulfate, 10 mg., was used as the standard for comparison, the equipotent dose of piminodine was found to be approximately 7.5 mg., a figure which is in excellent agreement with the potency of the drug as predicted from the animal data.3.3. The side effects observed in this study were minimal with both drugs.
