Studies on oxime hydrochlorides part III, long range anisotropy effect of hydroxyimino groups of dioximes

High resolution NMR spectra of both cis and trans, p-benzoquinone dioxime and 1,4-cyclohexanedione dioxime are obtained and analyzed by taking account of the long range anisotropy effect of the hydroxyimino group. It is found that the amount of the trans isomer is greater than that of the cis isomer. Moreover, it is concluded that 1,4-cyclohexanedione dioxime exists in a twisted boat conformation. The localization of π-electrons of p-benzoquinone dioxime is also discussed.
