Redox data of the title compounds are given. In buffered aqueous medium the reduction gave aminomalonitrile and the corresponding N-methylamine. Based on the products obtained, mechanisms are proposed for the oxidation in acetonitrile medium of two products, p-chloro and m-chloro derivatives, chosen as typical representative examples.
