Synthesis, IR spectra and X-ray crystal structure of dinitrato(N,N'-dimethyl-1,2-ethanediamine)copper(II)

Blue crystals of [Cu(NN'dmen)(NO3)2] (where NN'dmen = N,N'-dimethyl-1,2-ethanediamine) were prepared and its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. In this complex both the nitrates are mono-coordinated to the copper in cis positions. The IR spectra and magnetic susceptibility are reported.
