This chapter principally describes the chemical literature of epoxides, aziridines, and azirines for the year 2016, while other three-membered heterocycles, such as oxaziridines and diazirines, receive limited coverage. As in previous years, this account does not provide an exhaustive list but instead seeks to provide an overview of the most useful and fascinating methods that pertain to the preparation and reactions of these heterocycles. Methods that realize the construction of other heterocycles and/or impart enantioselectivity are emphasized.
