BackgroundUlipristal acetate (UPA) 30 mg (ella®, HRA-PHARMA, Paris, France) acts as an emergency contraceptive (EC) by delaying ovulation. Because it is a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM), an additional effect on interfering with implantation has been suggested.
