Polyprenylpyrophosphate: 4-hydroxybenzoate-polyprenyltransferase activity is highest in aerobically grown yeast cells and lowest in anaerobically grown cells. Its production is subject to catabolite repression in aerobic cells and the increase in its activity in anaerobic cells undergoing respiratory adaptation is inhibited by cycloheximide.
