To develop a fluorometric method for assaying vitamin D metabolites and synthetic analogs, the reaction of major vitamin D3 metabolites and synthetic analogs with fluorescent dienophile (DMEQ-TAD) was studied, and the stereochemical structure of the resulting fluorescent adducts were determined on the basis of the CD spectra.
