The thermal and spectral properties of chelates of chloranilic acid, rhodizonic acid, and tetrahydroxyquinone with divalent copper, cobalt, nickel, zinc, and lead have been investigated. The chelates' properties are compared with those of naphthazarin and 2,5-dihydroxy-p-benzoquinone. Several unsuccessful attemps were made to prepare the beryllium chelates of these ligands.
