99mTc-labelled N-substituted carbamoyl iminodiacetates: Relationship between structure and biodistribution

This paper describes the synthesis, radiopharmaceutical preparation and biological distribution of a series of new substituted acetanilido and aliphatic iminodiacetic acid derivatives. The biological distribution of these 99mTc-labelled compounds was studied in mice at 30 min after parenteral administration; their distribution patterns were compared to that of 99mTc-diethyl-acetanilido-iminodiacetate, a hepatobiliary agent routinely used for visualization.Most of the complexes were excreted from the hepatobiliary system; some of the 99mTc-chelates showed similar biodistribution to that of 99mTc-diethyl-iminodiacetate and may need further evaluation as possible hepatobiliary agents.
