In this paper we report the preparation of 5,7-dimethylpyrazolo [1,5-a] pyrimidines substituted in position 2 by a long linear perfluoroalkyl chain (C7F15). These compounds are obtained by action of acetylacetone with 5(3)-F-alkyl 3(5)-aminopyrazoles. In some cases the reaction intermediate may be isolated and a two step mechanism is suggested to explain the synthesis of these new F-alkyl nitrogen fused heterocycles.
