(C6Cl5)2 TlCl has been prepared from TlCl3 and C6Cl5Li. Derivatives of the type (C6Cl5)2TlX (X = ClO4, 12 SO4, CH3COO) have been made by treatment of the (C6Cl5)2TlCl with silver salts. The perchlorate group in (C6Cl5)2TlClO4 is readily displaced by several anions to give (C6Cl5)2TlY (Y = Br, I, CN) complexes containing anions which cannot be introduced with silver salts.
