The enthalpy of reaction of α-sodium uranate (Na2UO4) with approximately 0.1 M HCl has been determined to be -(41935 ± 176) calth mol−1. Combination of this result with measured enthalpies of solution of NaCl in HCl(aq) and of UO2Cl2 in an aqueous mixture of NaCl and HCl, together with auxiliary data from the literature, yieldedΔHf°(α−Na2UO4,c,298.15K)=-(445.56±0.85)kcalthmol-1.
