Topochemical transformations of crystalline Na5P3O10 · 6H2O, Li5P3O10 · 5H2O, and NaLi4P3O10 · 4H2O, amorphous Na2Li3O10 · 4.3H2O and mixed amorphous-crystalline Nao.9Li4.1O10 · 4.4H2O were studied by DTA, TG, DTG, 1RS, XRD, and TLC methods in the temperature range 20–950°C. In all cases, except that of Na5P3O10 · 6H2O, the topochemical process proceeds through a degradation step with no subsequent formation of anhydrous triphosphate. The main crystalline product corresponds to the formula Li4P2O7.
