A spectrophotometric study of erbium (III) speciation in chloride solutions at elevated temperatures

Add time:07/18/2019 Source:sciencedirect.com
The speciation of erbium in chloride-bearing solutions was investigated spectrophotometrically at temperatures of 100 to 250 °C and a pressure of 100 bars. The hydrated ion, Er3+, is predominant at ambient temperature, but chloride complexes are dominant at elevated temperature. Formation constants were calculated for the following reactions:(β1)Er3+ + Cl− = ErCl2+
