A simple and expeditious synthesis of S6-cyanoethyl-2′-deoxy-6-thioguanosine from 2′-deoxyguanosine has been accomplished in good yield and incorporated into several triple helix forming oligonucleotides using the solid-phase phosphoramidite chemistry.
