Plasmas and Polymers addresses the need for a single specialized publication in a burgeoning field of applied science. The journal serves as a focus for research on technological prospects, diagnostics, material characterization, and testing in non-equilibrium plasma processes (both low and atmospheric pressure) used for depositing thin organic films or for modifying the surfaces of polymers. Specific technological areas explored by the journal include: plasma processes for membranes, biomaterials, optics, paper, textiles, sensors, opthalmics, food packaging, gas barrier films, adhesion, composites, immobilization of molecules, hydrophobic/hydrophilic surfaces, dyeability, printability, lubricity, corrosion protection, tribology, surface mechanisms, organic-based microelectronics, and other related topics.
Each issue of this international quarterly contains refereed technical articles and short communications, invited review articles, book reviews, and descriptions of major research groups.
Occasional issues are devoted to collections of papers presented at conferences, or to special topics in the area of plasma polymerization and plasmas modification of polymers.
