The Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry (Bioorganicheskaya Khimiya), founded in 1975 by Academician Yurii A. Ovchinnikov, is the most prominent Russian journal on bioorganic chemistry (i.e., physicochemical biology and the organic chemistry of biologically important molecules). It publishes reviews and the results of original experimental and theoretical investigations on the structure, structurety relationships, and synthesis of biopolymers such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, mixed biopolymers and their more highly organized complexes and low molecular mass bioregulators such as peptides, lipids, and antibiotics. The journal also covers the fields of neuro- and immunochemistry, biotechnology, and some ecological and environmental problems. The Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry is intended for scientists, teachers at universities and high schools, students, and researchers at industrial, medical, agricultural, and environmenta l-control laboratories.
