Mequitamium iodide (CAS NO.: ), with other name of 1-Azoniabicyclo(2.2.2)octane, 1-methyl-3-(10H-phenothiazin-10-ylmethyl)-, iodide, could be produced through many synthetic methods.
Following is one of the synthesis routes: By quaternization of 10-(1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-ylmethyl)-10H-phenothiazine (I) with methyl iodide in CH3CN at 50 C for several hours.
