  • Production Methods of Toborinone
  • Toborinone (CAS NO.: 143343-83-3), with its systematic name of (+-)-6-(2-Hydroxy-3-(veratrylamino)propoxy)carbostyril, could be produced through many synthetic methods.

Following are two of the synthesis routes:

    Production Method of Toborinone

(1). 6-Hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolinone (I) is alkylated with epichlorohydrin in the presence of K2CO3 in MeOH to afford 6-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-2(1H)-quinolinone (II). Ring opening of the epoxide (II) with 3,4-dimethoxybenzylamine gives Toborinone.
(2). The compound 6-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-2(1H)-quinolinone (II) is treated to produce 6-(3-amino-2-hydroxypropoxy)-2(1H)-quinolinone (III), and then the yield product reacts with 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde to afford the final product of Toborinone.
