- Production Route of Andolast
-
Andolast (CAS NO.: 132640-22-3), with its systematic name of Benzamide, 4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-N-(4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)phenyl)-, could be produced through many synthetic methods.
Following is one of the synthesis routes: Coupling between 4-cyanobenzoyl chloride (I) and 4-aminobenzonitrile (II) by means of Et3N affords the corresponding amide (III). The dicyano compound (III) is then treated with sodium azide and ammonium chloride in hot DMF to produce the title bis-tetrazolyl derivative.
